일본인 가옥 거리는 일제강점기 시절에 일본인들이 살았던 곳으로, 일본인 가옥 몇 채만 남아 있던 곳을 포항시가 '일본인 가옥 거리’로 조성한 곳입니다. 이곳은 포항시 구룡포 일대에 위치하고 있으며, 구룡포 근대문화 역사거리의 한 축으로 같은 골목으로 이어져 있습니다.
구룡포 근대문화 역사거리는 경상북도 포항시 남구 구룡포읍 구룡포길 153-1에 조성된 거리로 조선시대 말부터 왜인들이 살았던 곳으로, 광복 이후 왜식 가옥 몇 채가 남아있던 것을 시가 정돈해서 관광지로 개발한 곳입니다. 구룡포 근대문화 역사거리는 457m 거리의 오랜 시간의 흐름에 훼손된 27개 동의 건물을 보수한 뒤 2012년 7월 31일에 개장하게 되었으며 거리 내부로 들어가면 약 80여 채의 적산가옥 (敵産家屋) 가옥이 늘어서 있습니다.
동백꽃 필 무렵"은 2019년 KBS에서 방영된 드라마로 공효진씨가 동백 역을 맡았고, 황용식 역은 강하늘이 맡았으며, 강종렬 역은 김지석씨가 맡았습니다. 이 드라마는 한 여성의 성장과 사랑을 그린 작품으로, 한 여성이 편견과 차별 속에서 아이를 키우며 살아가는 이야기를 담고 있습니다.
